landscape_studies
[Το κείμενο διατίθεται μόνο στα Αγγλικά] The raw, primitive and scratchy sounds of the sound artist Alessandro Ragazzo ━ made up of random audio segments inserted in other environments than the natural contexts of origin from which they were acquired through the field recording technique (forest lands, mountains, but also urban roads and squares) ━ arise from the use of mainly analogue supports and the use of mixers, distorters, tape recorders, walkman, mp3 players and microphones, intersecting and generating anti-melodic and concrete compositions.

These estranging sounds characterized by tones and rhythms of unpredictable identity, meet and dialogue with the monochrome visual compositions generated by the visual artist Samir Sayed Abdellattef. The generative and responsive audio scenarios created by the latter lead the observer to alien and apocalyptic places, where abstract geometric shapes are followed by more complex structures that can be traced back to distinguishable natural elements.

From this sort of osmotic and mutual relationship that combines sound and visual comes "landscape_studies", a metamorphic and evolving project born from the synesthetic collaboration of two artistic entities and which continues a a/v discourse born with audiovisual performances titled "lenz" [2018] and "ascolto_osceno_per_navi" [2019].
